It's been more than eleven months since seasoned actress Connie Ferguson, lost her husband Shona Ferguson, but the pain doesn't go away, and she misses him every single day.
As the world celebrated Father's Day yesterday, Connie took to her Instagram account to pen a heartfelt message to show gratitude to him, for being a phenomenal father to their kids,
Connie said she misses him every day, and thanked him for parenting well with her. "Miss you every day. Especially missed you today. Thank you for showing that it’s not that hard to be a good father. I was blessed to parent with you. Always one of a kind. Love you forever," she wrote
Shona would have celebrated his 48th birthday on 30 April 2022. His daughter Alicia Ferguson, took to her Instagram account to send him a heartfelt happy heavenly birthday shoutout.
"Happy Heavenly Birthday day Fa. I’m not going to lie. Writing this message feels so strange and heartbreaking. It’s your first heavenly birthday. Unfortunately I can’t run to your room and irritate you on this special day. It feels extremely weird and empty not having you around. I miss asking you for nasal spray when mine finished.
I miss you coming to my room asking me to take pictures of you, or “come take me a snap”. I miss you calling me asking “Juice, what’s for lunch?” I just miss you being here fa♥️But I know you’re resting in peace and watching over us. I love you so much Fede. Happy Birthday," she wrote.
On the 9 months anniversary since Shona passed away Connie penned down a heartfelt note to him.
"Ma Dude, this life thing is just not the same without you! I have stopped trying to understand or asking why? But nine months later, it still doesn’t feel real. My whole life feels like a dream. To say I miss you would be the biggest understatement! To go from doing absolutely EVERYTHING with someone, and suddenly not have them there with you physically, is the most crippling feeling to say the least!" wrote Connie Ferguson.
She continued "Today we celebrate you my LOVE! A legend, a man who loved without reservation, whose smile lit up the world, with an echoing laugh that melted hearts! A big guy with a big heart, whose sole purpose in life, was to positively impact the lives of those he encountered, in person or remotely!
We celebrate you man of God! We glorify His name for the time spent with you! The impact you made! The lives you touched and continue to touch! You were and truly are one of a kind! You will never be forgotten Mr. Sho! EVER! Live, Love, Leave a Legacy! That’s exactly what you did,"
Shona passed away on 30 July 2022 at the Milpark private hospital in Johannesburg due to COVID-19 related complications. His passing sent shockwaves across the country and he has left behind a remarkable legacy for the Arts fraternity.
