
The Afrotainment boss and Durban-based music maker took some much-needed time off to travel to the Big Apple (no pun intended…) and while there, he took a moment to speak to Beats 1 Radio DJ, Ebro Darden. Dj Tira had one thing on his mind: to promote South African sounds and boost their reputation globally.
Amapiano and gqom are two of our proudest exports at this point in time and the DJ wants as many foreign listeners as possible to hop on to the bandwagon.
The king of the coast was thrilled with himself as he took to Instagram to write:
“I’m in NYC pushing SA sounds from Amapiano to Gqom to House Music. Time is Now South Africa!”
