George Lebese, one of South Africa’s favorite international footballers celebrates his 32nd birthday today. The left winger who now plays for Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in the USL Championship was born on 3 February 1989 in Mamelodi.
After starting his football career with Arcadia Shepherds, George Lebese played with the Kaizer Chiefs from 2008 – 2017. He moved to American team Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in 2020.
He made it to the first call-up to the South African national team in November 2011, making his international debut against Ivory Coast in 2011.
His Kaizer Chiefs buddies nicknamed the Speedy winger George Lebese as ‘Geeza’ or ‘Milkshake’ for his light skin.

George Lebese gets hitched
The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC left winger; George Lebese gave up his bachelorhood after tying the knot with his gorgeous wife Melba Nkosi.
The star-studded wedding ceremony was attended by their near and dear ones. George’s buddies within the sports fraternity, including Itumeleng Khune and his wife, Sphelele Makhunga, George Maluleke were among those who came to attend the nuptials. On Instagram, George Lebese shared some of the wedding photos for his fans.
Geeza accused of being gay
George Lebese’s popularity also saw him fighting off rumors. A twitter user insinuated that George was gay. He later slammed those gay rumors. He took to social media to set right his sexual preferences.
The twitter user Karabo got the twitterati all up in a discussion with his tweets, which have since been deleted.

George exposes Banele on twitter
George Lebese on twitter came at Major League DJ Banele Mbere, for allegedly hitting on Lebese’s wife, Melba Nkosi. George Lebese and Melba Nkosi tied the knot early in 2020.
George Lebese decided to expose Banele on social media for cozying up with his-ex Sizakele Manonga and now for coming for his wife.

George Lebese was madly in love with his girlfriend, Sizakele Manonga about two years ago. She then went on to date Major League DJ Banele Mbere, after she broke up with Lebese.

Declaring love on instagram
On Instagram, George Lebese would share his thoughts on love for Sizakele:
“If two hearts are meant to be together, no matter how long it takes, how far they go, how tough it seems, fate will bring them together,” read one of the soccer player’s captions on Instagram.
George and Sizakele, back in the day, one of Mzansi’s favorite couples.
George Lebese, who back then played for Kaizer Chiefs, was arrested for purportedly attacking his girlfriend in Silverton, Pretoria, where he supposedly assaulted her and damaged her car as well.
The Kaizer Chiefs released a statement on their website to confirm the news. “Kaizer Chiefs have been informed that George Lebese has been accused of being involved in an incident. The player has handed himself over to the relevant authorities and the matter is being attended to.”
