The River 1 Magic is never short of drama and the recent storyline is no different. Emma’s mother Zungazi, has come out of nowhere and has wasted no time in turning her world upside down. She’s threatened to expose her deepest and darkest secret and inform her husband Zolani and the Dikana family that she is responsible for her father’s death unless she produces 10 million to keep her quiet.
This explains why Emma didn’t invite any of her family members besides Beauty to her wedding. She didn’t like the idea of her mother showing up announced – she wanted her gone the moment she set foot at the Dikana mansion and now it’s clear why.
Zolani has informed Emma about one of Lindiwe’s big shot clients making his way from Britain to buy diamonds worth 20 million. “Baby that’s huge,” was her response when she heard the news. Since Lindiwe is away on vacation with Zweli Dikana, Zolani is the one responsible for making sure that the deal goes through smoothly. Emma’s mom heard in on the conversation and is now putting more pressure on her daughter to secure the bag by stealing a few diamonds. Hectic right?
Emma is portrayed by seasoned actress Lunathi Mampofu who also stars in Unmarried. She’s also featured on The Queen Mzansi. Her mother onscreen mother, Zungazi is played by renowned actress and former Yizo Yizo lead Charmane Mtinta
Lunathi made her debut in the previous season of the award-winning telenovela and made life extremely difficult for Lindiwe Dikana. Toward the end of the season, she was promoted to a leading cast member to fill the void left by Larona Moagi who played the character of Tumi Mokoena.
Following her last episode and dramatic exit from the show, Larona penned a heartfelt message to her supporters and viewers of The River.
“It’s a Wrap! There we have it. It’s the end of the road for Itumeleng Mokoena/Dhlomo/Dlamini etc. Thank you to Tshedza Pictures & 1 Magic for welcoming me & affording me this wonderful opportunity. And to my family & friends... kealeboga. To everyone who watched me each night & to those who support my work, THANK YOU for welcoming Tumi into your homes for the past three years. It has been quite the journey & you all made it sweeter God bless you all.”
Many have described the new season of the drama as dull and boring but this new storyline could bring back their glory days.
