According to the statement shared by Phil Mphela, the pair have tried multiple times to fix their marriage but it did not work.
“We had hoped that the third attempt would have been the final one on both our lives…we have tried hard and we are proud of our efforts. Regrettably, we simply did not connect,” the statement read.
This is sad news for the popular couple, however, Tweeps say they saw it coming. @Sakhsrad responded: I saw how Lebo M speaks with his wife in the reality show, I can’t say I’m surprised at this breakup. How she put up with that treatment over the years is really beside me”
@KgomotsoTlhapan: “Angela is a gorgeous woman, I don't understand why she keeps going back to Lebo M who had done nothing but disrespect her. That man did not respect her watching their reality show, Angela has the potential she can do very well without his money. She gave him way too many chances.”
It seems like it has been a bumpy ride for the couple, In 2013, Lebo M and Angela divorced, They eventually got back together and exchanged their vows in Egypt back in 2016, just about a few weeks after Lebo parted ways with his then-fiancé Zoe Mthiyane.
In 2017, Sunday Sun reported that Lebo and Angela were set for another divorce. According to the publication, Angela confirmed that Lebo ended the marriage without her knowledge. Last year the pair got back together.
Lebo M and Angela are both starring on their reality TV show titled Lebo M - Coming Home, the show was launched last year in December.
Lebo told Sowetan Live that he was sceptical to start the reality TV show but he started it because he wanted to tell his story.
"I was initially sceptical about a reality show, but having recently learnt no one really knows who I really am in South Africa, my beloved home country of birth. I’ve become romantic about opening up and having my fans and audience here hang out with Angela and my children via this conversation in 10 episodes," he told the publication.
Lebo M- coming home is nominated for this year’s South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) for the Best Structured soap Reality Show alongside Kelly Khumalo’s Life with Kelly and Somizi & Mohale: The Union.
Lebo M has won several awards in his career. Last year he was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement “Legends Award” at the 3rd Annual Dstv Mzansi Viewer’s Choice Awards (DMVCA).
