Back in April, it was reported that the couple had a bun in the oven and had already revealed the baby’s gender to close family members and friends. In May, Sphelele did confirm that they were expecting a new addition to their family. “As we wait for our new addition to the Family.”

Another couple to welcome a newborn baby is Skeem Saam’s Pebetsi Matlaila and her husband. The actress has been teasing snaps of her baby girl through her Instagram stories. She, however, revealed that her pregnancy was not the smoothest as it almost claimed her life.

“I don’t know yet, how I survived, I’m told most women with pre-eclampsia don’t. I cannot wrap my head around it yet or comprehend what happened. I am told we were brought back from death and shocked Dr One day I will share the story. I don’t know why God chose us. For now, I appreciate health, and deeply grateful for life.” Shared the new mom on one of her stories.

Fans should be delighted to see Itumeleng Khune wear a smile on his face. 2021 has been a tough year for the skipper. He has lost his sister in a fire. She was found dead at her grandmother’s house in her room in Tshing, Extension 2, North West.

Vensterdorp Police spokeswoman, Colonel Adele Myburgh, said that an investigation into the incident was opened. “At 5 am on Thursday we received a call about a lot of smoke coming from a backroom in Tshing. The police broke down the door and found a 27-year-old burnt inside the room. Unfortunately, the lady died.”

In March, a source close to the family believes Khune’s sister was a victim of a home invasion as it was only her room that burnt down. “It is not the main house that was burnt down, but an outdoor room where Mapula was sleeping. The incident happened at their grandmother’s house in Venterdorp in the wee hours of Thursday morning.

“Everyone was there when the incident happened. They called the police around 4 am when they realised the room was on fire. When the police arrived, she was burned beyond recognition. The family is now waiting for the postmortem,”
revealed the source.
