Footballer Itumeleng Khune and his wife Sphelele are extending their family.

The Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper has a beautiful baby girl with wife Siphelele Makhunga and now the couple has another bun in the oven.

Fans had been suspecting that Mrs Khune is pregnant when her goalie husband posted a picture of the two of them and their baby Amo on her first safari visit but after some congratulatory messages, the star acknowledged the comments; automatically confirming the news.

Last month, Sunday World reported that a reliable source had looped them in on Sphelele's pregnancy, also revealed that she is pregnant with twin boys.

According to the source, the couple had been advised to keep the news under wraps due to the nature of trolling Siphelele had received after the announcement of their first pregnancy.

“It is true, Khune and Sphelele will soon welcome new additions to the family. Both families are excited that their brood is growing.

"She was advised to keep a low profile to protect herself from negativity and haters,"
the source had told the publication.

The footballer had a tough start to the year after losing his sister in March. According to reports, his sister Mapula Khune was found dead at  in her room at their grandmother's house in Tshing, Extension 2, North West.

Vensterdorp Police spokeswoman, Colonel Adele Myburgh, had said that they opened an investigation into the incident Mapula had passed during a fire that burnt down her room: “At 5 am on Thursday we received a call about a lot of smoke coming from a backroom in Tshing. The police broke down the door and found a 27-year-old burnt inside the room. Unfortunately, the lady died."

It was later reported that a 17-year-old was arrested under suspicions of involvement in the murder of the footballer's sister. It was further reported that the teenage boy would appear before the Ventersdorp Children’s Court.

"This comes after the 17-year-old boy was charged on Friday afternoon, 5 March 2021, in Ventersdorp, following the alleged murder of Khune. Police initially investigated an inquest, but after obtaining more information, the inquest was changed to murder.

“Since Friday, additional cases of assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm (GBH) have been reported as community street patrollers and family members have allegedly been assaulting alleged perpetrators for the murder of Khune,"
read the statement.
