Major League DJz have reacted to being pitted against award-winning amapiano pioneer Kabza De Small. The duo found themselves trending on social media following a heated debate on Mac G's new YouTube show- Amapiano Unwrapped.


The episode featured a panel of Amapiano where they unpacked the best Amapaino talent of 2022. One of the guests left a bitter taste in a lot of people's mouths after she labeled the twins as the Face of Amapiano, while disregarding Kabza's contribution to the genre. According to her, the twins are more influential because they can communicate better and articulate the culture of Amapiano than Kabza de Small does.

“This international thing is not because they are gigging internationally. Major Leagues can sit down in an interview and tell you about piano, Kabza can’t,” she said.

Reacting to the debate, the DJs gave Kabza De Small his flowers. They acknowledge that they are merely a carrier of sound to the world and say they learned about the genre from Kabza.

“Weird energy going around but our knowledge about amapiano comes from Kabza, Josiah, De Mthuda, Mfr Soul, and Mark Khoza. We just a vessel of the sound to the world,” the duo wrote.

Tweeps have defended Kabza and dragged those who disrespected his impact on the amapiano genre.
