As we wrap up the year, we cannot fail to recognize some if not all of the Zalebs who rocked 2021. It has been quite the bumpy year but we are happy to see that our Zalebs did not fail us. From big wins to humping lows, they remain dear in our hearts.
Here is a list of Zalebs that showed 2021 just who’s the boss.
Makhadzi
At the top of our list is Mzansi’s favourite singer and dancer Makhadzi has also had quite the eventful year. From winning her very first AFRIMMA award to making her debut on UK’s Classique magazine cover, there is no denying that she has been on an unstoppable roll.
Makhadzi continues to win the hearts of many with her sensational performances throughout the region and we can only imagine that 2022 will be an even better year for this queen.

Khanyi Mbau
Next up on the list is actress and media personality Khanyi Mbau, who not only made headlines for her personal life, but also for her professional life as well. From drama with her bae Kudzai in Dubai, to making major wins in the industry, we must say, Khanyi had quite the year!
Just recently, she landed one of the biggest roles in her career and we most definitely love this new adventure for her. Keep winning, Khanyi.

Cassper Nyovest
This is yet another Zaleb that rocked the streets of 2021 like the king he is! From bagging awards to building his very one home studio, can we just take a moment to appreciate his hard work! And let us not forget his well planned star studded birthday party that left jaws dropping in Mzansi.
And yes, he also did have quite a lot of hate going round about him but his clap backs also did allow his naysayers the light of day. Well done Cassper!

Somizi Mhlongo
Somizi’s year has been quite eventful. It started out well until he and his estranged husband Mohale Motaung said goodbye to their fairytale romance. That however, did not stop him from making boss moves that had him at the top of his game.
This year has seen Somizi take the most lavish of vacations not to mention having his Dinner at Somizi’s cookbook top best sellers in Mzansi, there is no denying that Somgaga is on a roll and we love to see it.
Uncle Waffles
We can all agree that 2021 was definitely made for this female deejay. Uncle Waffles quickly rose to fame this year after a video of her dancing to the Adiwele hitmaker by Young Stunna went viral on social media. And while many were jealous of rise to the limelight, not even Drake himself could deny how great Uncle Waffles is.
Uncle Waffles has also been on the receiving end of a lot of hate this year, but it was good to see fellow stars show up for her and defend the queen that she is becoming.

Black Coffee
Black Coffee is undoubtedly one of the most recognized and loved musicians across the continent. The deejay got nominated for a Grammy award this year alongside other major household names like Major Lazor and all of Mzansi remains hopeful that he will bring the award home.
Black Coffee continues to win hearts of many in the region with his sensational performances and there is no denying that we can only wait for what he has in store for 2022.
