After the announcement of her death South Africa lost a legendary actress who has graced our small and big screens everywhere. After her final appearance on television as Rafiki in Beyonce's Black Is King, Mzansi felt a sense of pride that the actress is now resting peacefully.
Creator, writer and producer of the musical film Beyonce Knowles and her mother Tina Lawson paid tribute to Mary Twala wishing her a peaceful rest.
Tina Lawson shared on Instagram how her daughter Bey shared the news of her passing with her. Tina wrote, "Beyonce shared the sad news about this wonderful legend Mary Tesla , who played the elder in the film (Rafiki) that she had passed on. It is very interesting that in the film the poetry says “the elders are tired” May she REST In Eternal Peace."
Her tribute had some fans troubled by her incorrect spelling on her surname as Tina wrote Mary Tesla and not Twala. However her good gesture did not go unnoticed.
