The epitome of protest theatre. A pillar of black arts in our times. This is a painful loss to activism in the arts. I’m gutted. No words. Rest in peace my brother. Rest in revolutionary eternity Mncedisi Shabangu. History has written your name in our hearts. Salute pic.twitter.com/luoaLe9LvF

Really saddened by the passing of this giant. Was blessed enough to work with him at Wits for my Masters (I dropped out eventually) and his passion brought all of us alive. The best Thespian and teacher in my eyes. Rest easy, champ 🙏🏾 Mncedisi Shabangu. Truly gone too soon... pic.twitter.com/DMVoe9ItUr
