It has been less than a week since Moeti “Mo Flava” Tsiki confirmed his exit after eight years from Metro FM. The announcement comes as the veteran broadcaster was first introduced to the station’s roster as the drive-time radio jock, and two years since helming the breakfast show Wake Up On Metro FM.
His joint statement with the station at the time of his confirmation had read in part as:

“The time has come for me to move on and explore other opportunities. I have spent eight amazing years at METRO FM and I appreciate the opportunity I was given to do top-level radio and touch lives. The METRO FM listeners have a special place in my heart. I am looking forward to exploring new opportunities I have lined up in radio where I will continue to express my talent. I am also excited about TV opportunities on the horizon. I’ll also continue to help young people who want to get into radio broadcasting through radio demo workshops."
At the time, the statement had earmarked Friday, 10 March as the last day for Mo Flava hosting the breakfast show. However, in a surprising twist of events, it seems that his last day came more unexpectedly than previously shared.
Mo Flava bids farewell to Metro FM
As listeners and fans of Mo Flava on Metro FM tuned in on Tuesday, 7 March 2022, Mo Flava took to Twitter ahead of his show to confirm that this would mark his last day. The announcement came as a surprise to many considering that the official statement had earmarked Friday, 10 March 2023 as his last day.
Therefore, it does suggest that there might be some truth to the fact that maybe, just maybe, the decision to let go of Mo Flava entirely from the station was not a decision that was as mutual as suggested.
However, in light of the end of a tenure with Mo Flava, his fans took to the timeline to bid him a proper farewell and give him his flowers.
But one person that was giddy at the end of Mo Flava reign as one of the faces of the station was none other than his former co-host and mentee, MacGyver “MacG” Mukwevho. The two personalities were the duo that was behind the 2010s popular brand Rock Da Girls.
However, as MacG lost his fame at the time and Mo Flava continued to grow from strength to strength. It seems that Mo Flava was confident that MacG would never get his comeback. He would shade MacG’s fall from grace. Therefore, with the news that Mo Flava was axed from Metro FM, MacG used the opportunity to shade him back.
This was during the latest episode of Podcast and Chill when MacG suggested that Mo Flava was set to be down and out as he was fired from Metro FM. Moreover, he suggested that he was still willing to have Mo Flava on his podcast, regardless of the many inflammatory things he has said about his former friend and co-host.
