Mo Flava and his morning team did their usual segment called Kids Give The Best Answers on Tuesday morning, but one little listener melted their hearts.
Metro FM's Owen Hannie and Pearl Shongwe together with Mo, interact with kids and ask them questions, to which kids give hilarious answers - every morning they leave listeners in stitches.
When they asked the question: “What is it that you wished you knew how to do?” a 7-year-old girl called in and said she wished she knew how to read so she can make her parents proud. Her response touched everyone; including listeners who wish they can lend a helping hand.
This prompted Mo and his team to do something to help fulfill the young girl's dream. With their help, Mo assured the girl that one day she will learn how to read.
After the show, he took to twitter to express how the girl's story had touched him and that they were going to help her in whichever way they could.
Listeners also tweeted that they would love to assist wherever possible. One tweep, who owns a YouTube channel which promotes reading, also wants to jump on board.
Tweeps were very impressed with the child's willingness and determination to learn how to read.
It does indeed take a village to raise a child!
