The actor whose real name is Nkosinathi Maphalala has scored a new role on SABC 2. Nay Maps is the new cast member of Muvhango.
The show recently announced his character on Instagram.
"Introducing Tshireletso who will be portrayed by @naymaps #Muvhango." wrote the show.
Fans are already looking forward to Nay Maps' new character. Taking to the comments section @dr_moruti responded. "Big up ntwana, now I have a reason to check out Muvhango."
Former Muvhango star Phindile Gwala also wrote: "Ngithanda igama (I love the name) Congratulations ntwana yami
Giving his fans a hint about his character, Nay Maps said Tshireletso is a: "Tshwana Man born and raised in Pretoria and Limpopo enters the world of Muvhango on a Quest to find his heart’s desire."
A few days ago, the actor shared one of his proud moments on Instagram as he walked his baby sister down the aisle.
He said that was an epic life-changing experience for him and his family.
"As a Big Brother, Standing in for uBaba, uMa the Queen Mother and I walked my Precious Pearl Love, Daddy’s Princess @thandomaps down the aisle. What a Spiritual and Blessed Day this was," shared the actor.
Nay Maps is one of the popular actors who left the SABC 1's Uzalo a few months ago including his on-screen mom Mangcobo (Thandeka Dawn King) Masternind (Ntokozo Dlamini) Qhabanga (Siyabonga Shibe) and many more.
Last week, fans bid farewell to another popular character Zekhethelo played by Nyalleng Thibedi.
Nyalleng confirmed her departure to Daily Sun. The actress' last appearance on the show was last week Friday, 10 September.
Fans also recently saw the return of Gabisile who was also reported to have left the show a few months ago together with her on-screen husband Qhabanga (Siyabonga Shibe)
According to the statement that was released by the show then, the pair was meant to leave the show at the end of season six of Uzalo.
"The story has taken this direction and will give us a riveting, high-stakes ending for both characters. The decision was made in consultation with the two actors. Both have given a tremendous amount to their roles on Uzalo and we are forever grateful for that."
