What many cannot seem to overlook though is the awesomeness that is Oprah Winfrey and her ability to ask just the right questions and keep the conversation flowing. So much so, that Mzansi wishes we had our very own Oprah Winfrey. We do have a plethora of amazing personalities who have given us the most fascinating interviews on our television screens but who has just the right amount of talent to be in the same caliber as Oprah.

A social media user @LumkoJohnson posed the question: "Guys, who in our country can host exclusive high profile interviews like these Oprah specials?" This opened up the floor for a fruitful debate on who can pull off such good interviews. Whilst many gave their suggestions, Pearl Thusi kept on catching 'stray bullets' from trolls who do not believe she has what it takes.

Here are a few comments on the matter:

"Maybe Redi? - I think she understands the entertainment value of it. But she also wouldn’t compromise the journalistic integrity. I’d also feel most comfortable speaking to someone like her as opposed to other types of “celebrity”

Robert Marawa is one of the best. Doesn't make everything about him and he is well informed."

Noeleen. She had it hey, her warmth, her humor and her follow up questions were always on the spot. You could the guests presence but also hers as a host.
It was like people were in her house and the conversations were like you were there. Noeleen hands down."

When a few mentioned the likes of Anele Mdoda, Bonang Matheba and Pearl Thusi, many opposing views were thrown. For one, Anele Mdoda =a was seen as a person who would brag too much about being friends with the person. Bonang Matheba is not seen as a good interviewer and Pearl had many believing that she would make the whole interview about herself.

This brought it back to her BET: Behind The Story interviews where she would steer the conversation to being about her. For instance, the interview she had with Khanyi Mbau about colourism and how Pearl made the whole conversation about her and not the subject.
