Channel O left fans disappointed after announcing that the popular Podcast and Chill's celebrity edition is going on a production break.
Taking to social media platforms to break the news, the channel did not specify when fans will get to see the podcast on screen again.
Fans have since reacted to news asking the channel to bring back the podcast. Here are a few reactions from social media.
This comes just a few episodes after the podcast announced the move to channel O. The Channel shared a press release a few weeks ago welcoming the Podcast and Chill.
The press release promised viewers honest and raw conversations, "No topic is off-limits, from the deeply personal (battling illness, life in prison, childhood traumas), to fame, politics and navigating media scandals. The conversations are so honest and raw that the viewer sometimes feels as though they are eavesdropping on private chats between close friends, a sign of interviewing done right."
M-Net Director of Local Entertainment Channels, Nomsa Philiso also reacted to the news saying they were happy to have Mac G and his team on the Channel.
“We love giving our viewers content that is relevant, relatable, and topical, and Podcast and Chill with MacG is exactly that. The interviews are always candid, interesting, and impossible to ignore. The chemistry between MacG and his guests makes for great television and we’re thrilled to have them join Channel O,” she said.
A few days ago, it was announced that POPcast hosted by Ms. Cosmo and the former Microwave Boyz member, Sipho Muchindu is heading to Channel O.
"New Era! #POPcast is landing on #ChannelO next week Tuesday at 21:30! A four-part special with a slew of local celebrities keeping it real. Moving the culture," wrote the channel on Instagram.
The big announcement came a few days after Scoop Makhathini called it quits as the presenter of the POPcast.
Announcing his departure, Scoop said he will still be part of the POPCast team. He also revealed that he was joining POPradio.
"I have decided to shoot my last episode of POPcast and this is it. But not to worry I will still be a part of the show and team. I am also gonna be a part of POPradio," he said on his last episode of POPcast.
He added: "Sitting on this sit, talking about music I think has reached a plateau for me. I will definitely still be looking and watching but giving my views on it and talking about it, I really think that it is time for me to have other mouths and other brains see the culture and interpret it the way they should."
