In an era where some black parents have no qualms about constantly conversing in English with their children at home, others are definitely refining this narrative.
One such parent is Rhythm City actress, Samkelo Ndlovu. She posted a cute video on Twitter, of herself and daughter in a pool - whilst teasing her in IsiZulu.
In the caption, Samkelo mentioned that she has made it a point to converse in IsiZulu or IsiXhosa with her daughter and that she will learn English at school.

Conversing in one's indigenous language has increasingly become a thing within the four walls of some celebrity households.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Isibaya actress and author, Ayanda Borotho once shared the language policies of her home, especially where her children are concerned.
In the caption, Ayanda explained that she has enforced that her children should only speak her mother tongue, IsiZulu and their Dad's home language, SeSotho. Although she did acknowledge that English is a powerful and universal language, her children will learn all about it at school.
