She took to Instagram to share a heartwarming video of herself and the team handing over the first house.
She wrote: “My philanthropist duties…As promised this is how the first house handover went. I couldn’t do it better without my son @andilempisane10 @shaunstylist who always has my back covered. A big thank you to all the key stakeholders that contributed to making this happen. @mzansi_fosho @expressions_sabc1 you guys have been amazing.
“Thank you for all the hard work put into this.❤️❤️❤️A big well done to @ronaldlamola_ and the department of correctional services the level of dedication and workmanship shown by the wardens and inmates is truly commendable. Siyabonga!!!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾”
She thanked the family for being part of the journey and wished them all the best for their future endeavors.
“To the Zungu Family, we are so happy to have been part of this journey with you. This is not about me, Zikhulise, the officials or the media and their cameras...this is about you. This a new chapter for this family. I hope that you will use this opportunity to its fullest and rewrite your story and make your parents proud from heaven. Keep me updated on how things are going and we wish you all the best for the future ahead.❤️❤️😏😏🏡🏡To my team, 1 down and 19 more to go let’s keep the momentum!!,” wrote Mamkhize.
Last month Mamkhize announced that together with SABC1 and the department of correctional services for labour she will be giving away 20 houses to the less fortunate families to celebrate her 20 years in the construction industry.
We’ve collaborated with @Sabc1 @expressions and the department of correctional services for labour. When we got there I was impressed at the level of workmanship shown by the inmates and I have committed to assisting them as part of their rehabilitation program which focuses on skills, training, and returns to work strategies. We all deserve a second chance in life. I guess that was the lesson for the day: always learn from your mistakes and do whatever it takes to be a better person!" she wrote on Instagram.
She also urged other business people to help where they can.
Affordable housing is an outcry out there, and the government is trying to do what they can but there are so many people out there who need the house. So as business people let's see how can we help, try and assist where we can. Try and reach out, Expressions will reach out," she told the SABC cameras.
