The 12th annual Feather Awards were held at the Constitution Hill in Joburg last night, 11 November. like many other events, the formalities were done a bit differently this year and the ceremony became an intimate affair. The award ceremony looks to celebrate the LGBTQI community and uplift them, hence the title 'controversial' which seeks to best describe them.

The award show does not only recognize gay people, but they also acknowledge straight people too.
Newcomer Siphesihle Ndaba who plays the very captivating MaZet on the hit Mzansi Magic telenovela Gomora, was recognized for being the hottest chick of the year!
MaZet got introduced to us, all thanks to the telenovela. Her beauty captivated many, so even if she did not win the award, Mzansi had already dubbed her the hottest woman this year.
She plays a very street smart character who is feisty and lives a life of crime. She dropped out of school to earn an income for herself. She is one of the best newcomers this year and has already gained herself legions of fans.
The 23-year-old actress is a product of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership School for Girls. She also graduated from Rhodes University and majored in Dramatic arts, specializing in acting, physical theatre and applied theatre

“I’d like to thank Open Mic Productions for always going all the way with me and everyone else who has been pushing for me," he said, thanking his fans for making his video for Jerusalema featuring Nomcebo, one of the most watched on YouTube.
The producer recently won an award for Best African Act at the MTV European Music Awards (EMA's), for his hit single Jerusalema.
He thanked his legions of supporters around the world for making his victory possible. Artists who were up for the award are South African Amapiano duo DJ Maphorisa and Kabza de Small, Nigeria's Burna Boy, Rema, Uganda’s songstress Sheebah and Gaz Mawete from the DRC.
Other winners include: Drama Queen of The Year, which was won by Somizi Mhlongo and Dinner at Somizi’s, Best Styled Individual, Thishiwe Ziqubu, Hunk of The Year: Gorata Nzimande, Sports Personality of The Year: Siya Kolisi, Diva Extraordinaire of The Year: Refilwe Modiselle and Social Media Personality of The Year: Coconut Kelz.
