The actor, who is also a radio presenter on Thobela FM, revealed to his fans that he tested positive on Saturday, 26 June. This after he had not been feeling well and decided to isolate six days prior.

"I tested for covid19 on Saturday the 26th, got my positive results the following day. Fortunately, I had been isolating ever since I started feeling sick on the 20th of June," he wrote on his Facebook account.

He also told his followers that he has been experiencing serious discomfort; subsequently urging them to take care of themselves.

"The discomfort of this condition is beyond measure. Covid is real, take care of yourselves," he added.

His fans took to the comments section to wish him a speedy recovery; with others sharing their COVID-19 stories and tips to boost the immune system.

"You are in our prayers my dear brother. You will pull through take care and stay blessed."

"Skhu don't worry you will be very fine. There are many people who tested positive like you but now they are fine. Covid is part of our life nowadays so don't panic Skhu take your time you will recover very soon. U fole my friend."

"Speedy recovery bro, I survived in January, hope it never come back again, I hate that pain!"

"We will over come this, positive mind, good nutrition and resting is all we can do for now."

Skhumbuzo is not the only ZAleb to announce that he has tested positive for the virus this week. As more and more infections are reported, another celebrity counted in the infections statistics is actress Nokuthula Mavuso.

What the Abomama actress thought was just a common cold turned out to be worse than that as she revealed to her followers that she has tested positive for COVID-19.

The star, who rose to fame in the early 2000s as Lu on eTV's defunct youth soapie called Backstage, did not think much of the symptoms. Although she says they have subsided, Nokuthula said she experienced body aches, a sore throat, a cough and tiredness.

She is on day 5 of quarantine, and the days prior to that were like hell for her, especially when she skipped taking her vitamins.

We've seen a lot of our stars talking about the dangers of this pandemic, and sadly others succumbed. Mzansi's favourite doctor, Dr Sindi van Zyl and minister Jackson Mthembu are some of the celebrities we have lost due to COVID-19 complications. Other celebrities, such a presenter Zola Hashatsi have opening up about surviving this virus twice.

Uzalo actor Cebolenkosi Mthembu, who plays the hilarious Captain Nyawo on the SABC 1's flagship show, is another celebrity who revealed that he recently tested positive for the  coronavirus. The actor, whose father succumbed to COVID-19  complications in January, reminded fans that the virus is real and pleaded with everyone to stay safe and protect each other. Cebo was also very heartbroken that he could not even attend his father's funeral nor plan it as his firstborn.
