According to a screenshot obtained by Twitter user @Eusebius, a proposal for a similar show was made to Somizi and Themba sometime in 2014. Hastings Moeng allegedly gave a treatment description of the show to the producer of Somizi's current show Legend Manqele on September 2, 2016, and they allegedly adopted his concept to develop the show.
MultiChoice responded by confirming that they are aware of the charges leveled against the show and have contacted Hastings Moeng.
"MultiChoice obtains assurances that all intellectual property rights in relation to the show have been cleared when content is commissioned from producers, as in this case. We contacted Mr. Moeng about a week ago to discuss the situation, and we are awaiting his response "Benedict Maaga, a representative for MultiChoice, told Sowetan.
