It is undeniable that The River is one of the most loved telenovelas across Mzansi. It is for this reason that fans will be excited to know that the telenovela is being renewed for Season 5 in the coming year. Are we excited? We most definitely are!!

The River, which is a South African telenovela, features two families in Pretoria, The Dlaminis and The Mokoenas that are brought together and divided by the discovery of a diamond in Cullinan. The cast features well renowned actors and actresses such as Sindu Dlatha who plays Lindiwe Dlamini, Larona Moagi who plays Tumi Mokoena and Lawrence Maleka who plays Zolani Dlamini, just to name a few.
The episodes that are released every week always leave fans with much to talk about, with many gushing over their favourite actors, acting skills and with others discussing their favourite scenes and episodes. You can therefore imagine how happy fans are to hear that they will be seeing more of this cast come next year.
According to entertainment blogger, Phil Mphela, “Season 5 of the 1Magic popular telenovela will be part of the Multichoice’s 2022 slate.” The announcement has seen fans admit that even if they don’t watch much TV, they can never miss an episode of The River.
For some, they have simply been recommending the cast that they either want back on the telenovela or those they cannot wait to see again. The more the drama, the more the views. Am I right or am I right? Let us look at some of the reactions.

Another TV series that has also been on the tongues of many across Mzansi is the Big Brother Mzansi reality show. It was not that long ago that Big Brother was confirmed to be back on Mzansi’s screens after having taken a five year break.

You can only imagine how excited fans were to receive this news, I mean who wouldn’t? So far fans have been musing over the auditions for the show that have been ongoing as well as the prize money that was revealed not so long ago. Phil Mphela revealed to his fans that for the 3rd season of Big Brother Mzansi, housemates will be competing for the 2 million cash prize, and that itself has Mzansi already up and awaiting 2022.
So far 2022 is already promising some good entertainment where our favourite TV shows are concerned and fans are already counting days to the end of 2021. And even as we await the onset of The River and Big Brother Mzansi, we can only hope that more shows will crop us because no one can pass up some good TV time.
