Taking to Facebook, TNS accused the radio station of wanting to sabotage him by not playing his recent single Umhlaba Wonke featuring Dlala Thukzin which he released in February. He has also released the visuals for the song on YouTube and is currently very busy marketing it.
The KwaZulu-Natal based radio station only plays his old music and not the current single. As a KZN born and raised musician, TNS reckons that they should be supporting him as he has done so too in the past.
According to the Iphupholethu musician, he has played for Gagasi FM for free in the past when he was still an up and coming musician. So for them to not support his career and being consistent, it is very disheartening.
“Gagasi FM, please play my song. KZN is also my home and I love you #UmhlabaWonke...I think there’s an issue. I say this because I’ve been the station’s resident DJ on Fridays since 2019. I never got paid and I didn’t ask for a salary because I needed the platform. At the Durban July, I also played for free at its marquee. I did ask for a minimal fee but the station refused to pay me. Again I had no issues with that. But now I am disappointed that the station is sabotaging my work,” he wrote.
TNS believes that other radio stations are playing his music including his current single, but not Gagasi. The station defended itself and speaking to Daily Sun it said the song is just not up to standard and not good enough to get played on it's platform.
“We can confirm that TNS’s song was received and went through the music committee review process. However, it was not approved by the committee as it was deemed not strong enough for playlisting...Unfortunately this release didn’t match the standard of previous releases,” said the station's spokesperson.
TNS has a very good catalogue of music and his songs heat up the dance floors. He is doing his own thing in his own lane, which made some people very furious.
His house got broken into so he linked the incident with a number of other incidents where his life got threatened. He then went on IG live to rant and beg for his life, "They’re so many, they even formed a group… to see if this thing I cannot handle. I cannot fight. I can’t fight this fight because I’m alone. I don’t have a mother and a father.
"They try to do all this bad things so that I quit, so that I give-up, so that I become paralyzed, so that in the end, I'll be unable to make the kind of music I made for South Africans," he cried.
