In a video recording that’s making the rounds on social media, Nkayi can be heard announcing that she’s back.
“Guys it seems like this radio thing doesn’t want to let me go. Because from the first of March you know what’ll be doing? I’m going to be driving you home. WHAT? Three to six drive time first of March, I’ll see you then, I’ll see you there,” she said.
Unathi shared another video from a photoshoot wearing a black figure hugging-dress and matching heels.
In November 2021, Unathi’s former employer Kaya 959 released a statement announcing that her contract had been terminated prematurely due to conduct that rendered the relationship intolerable.
"Ms. Nkayi’s contract has ended prematurely due to certain conduct that rendered the relationship intolerable going forward. Kaya 959 can confirm that certain incidents had occurred, which resulted in the breakdown of the trust relationship between the two parties.”
The radio station confirmed that due process was followed.
"The business can further confirm that due process was followed and the decision was therefore made to part ways with Ms. Nkayi.”
Kaya 959 further asked not to be drawn into a debate around the details of what transpired in the interest of the parties involved.
“The station would prefer not to be drawn into a debate around the details of what transpired in the interest of both parties. Safe to state that Ms. Nkayi’s version of events have been carefully considered and unfortunately found wanting,” read the statement from the radio station.
