Big Brother Season 3 second runner-up Themba Mabaso popular by his stage name The Ghost dropped his first EP last week Friday alongside DJ Tira whose taken him under his wing since he left the competition reality show. The fan favourite released a three-track project featuring the likes of The Qwabe Twins, Skye Wanda, Prince Bulo and the Makoya, DJ Tira himself. It is a self-titled dance EP released under Afrotainment which he is also signed by.
The Ghost has been having a very good couple of weeks since his eviction at the finale of Big Brother Mzansi, from being dressed by veteran fashion designer David Tlale at the launch of Rich Housewives of Lagos to growing his social media following and fandom in such a short period and now monetizing from his talents and to now finally pursuing his musical career. There certainly is no backing down for the star that is The Ghost. He first teased that he would be releasing music last week during an Instagram live in studio with DJ Tira and Viggy and Virginia of The Qwabe Twins.He went live again on Instagram and thanked his loyal fans the Ghost Nation, as well as DJ Tira and the other artists he’s worked with for the support, and further hinted at new music coming soon.”Guys the EP is doing really well. Can we please continue pushing the hashtags, pushing the EP. I am grateful Ghost Nation,” said Themba. He continued mentioning that he has more music drops coming up and that they would be hits as well. “I am gonna drop more music after this EP, we are also thinking of shooting music videos for this EP. So let’s keep pushing it.”
Ghost also mentioned that the EP has already reached and touched the lives of different people in different ways, he mentioned a story of a lady who just suffered the loss of a loved one saying that she’s admitted to finding solace and some healing from the EP. Themba said, “There’s a woman who said that this is a day her husband passed away and the first time she did not cry, and she was listening to uyangifaka and danced instead.”
His latest EP since its release a week ago has been doing impressively well, owning up the number one spot on Apple Music in South Africa, Botswana, Kenya and in top 10s in many countries including Taiwan all thanks to the Ghost Nation who continue to share the star’s success and amplify his reach with hashtags online.

The very same fandom has started a challenge surrounding this EP called Uyangifaka Challenge where we get to see each individual on social media dancing to the song by Themba Broly to a choreography routine by dancer Bontle Modiselle who choreographed with dance together with Themba at her dance studio in Maboneng.
He’s since said that he would perform some of the songs from his EP at his first Vodacom Durban July in Durban this upcoming July where he will also co-host the Afrotainment Marquee alongside DJ Tira, Tbo Touch, Bontle Modiselle and Naak Musiq.
