This Tuesday, 27 April 2021 sees our beautiful country celebrate Freedom Day. It’s a day we celebrate freedom and it commemorates the first elections held after apartheid in the year 1994 - these were the first elections where every individual aged 18 or above was eligible to vote regardless of their race group.

“Happy Freedom day Angels. How do you define Freedom?” She posed the question to her followers and sharing what this day means to her.
“For me it's not just about the day, Our ancestors activated this great day but on the daily your freedom is in your hands,” She adds. “I know if I'm happy I'm free, if I love me I'm free, if I delete toxic people I'm free if I choose my battles I'm free if I shut out the noise I'm free, but most importantly if I put God first, as my number 1 oh I'm definitely free!”
Stripping naked and getting covered in foam, outspoken personality Somizi Mholngo shared, “Freedom is coming today…get ready mama prepare for your freedom.”
Also celebrating Freedom Day was Gomora actress Thembi Seete. She said that she is tired of letting people control her life.
One of the biggest Deejays on the continent, DJ Zinhle shared a quote from former South African president Nelson Mandela. "There is no passion to be found in playing small--in settling for a life that is less than you are capable of living." - Nelson Mandela
Former Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane took to Twitter to remind South Africans to cherish the freedom they now have today.
“May we never forget what our freedom means and may we always safeguard it for the generations that will follow once we are no longer here,” he tweeted.
Tweeting from her BT Signature account, Boity Thulo said, “I hope you all have a great Freedom Day. Stay safe and enjoy responsibly lovers.”
Mzansi’s rich Aunt and monied reality Television star Mamkhize penned a lengthy heartfelt message which read, in part, “Personally freedom day is a day of new beginnings and possibilities. A day that reminds us that we are one country with differences that should always be embraced.”
