Mina Nawe lead singer Zanele 'Mazet' Maseko has passed away over the long weekend.
Zanele was apart of the veteran Afro-pop music group and they are the ones who took to Twitter to share the devasting news.
Mina Nawe consists of J-Luv, Carlo, and Mazet and they have blessed Mzansi with hits such as Where I wanna be and Le Ngoma Pt. 1.
"It is with shattered hearts we announce that we've lost a big part of who we are as a band and family. Our songstress Zanele 'Mazet' Maseko passed away this morning," Mina Nawe SA shared.
The group's public relations manager, Nkosiphambili Molapisi speaking to Sunday World confirmed that the songstress died in hospital on Sunday from an undisclosed illness.
“Yes, Mazet did pass away on Sunday. We will give you the necessary information before the end of business today; tomorrow is the latest as the family will only be getting a full report from the hospital today, since yesterday was a public holiday,” said Molapisi.
Tributes have poured in for Zanele across social media as news of her passing made waves across social media.
