On 18 September 1993, the Tunzi family was blessed with a sweet addition to their family. Little did they know that their bundle of joy would grow up to have such an influence and impact in the world, hence many regard her as a role model.
After having achieved so much in her lifetime, it's hard to believe that Zozibini is only twenty-seven years old. The beauty queen has been serving as a beacon of hope to many people across the globe since she was crowned Miss Universe 2019.
The beauty was crowned on 9 December 2019, at the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, USA. Zozibini became the third South African beauty to wear the Miss Universe crown, following the crowning of Margaret Gardiner in 1978 and Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters in 2017.
The 27-year-old, left many in awe during her crowning with her closing speech when she advocated for natural beauty.
"I grew up in a world where a woman who looks like me with my colour skin and my kind of hair is not considered beautiful...That stops today. I want children to look at my face and see their own looking back at them," said in her speech.
When Steve Harvey asked her what should we be teaching young girls, Zozibini's eloquent response left many convinced that she is fit to become the next Miss Universe. The beauty responded by saying,
"The most important thing we should be teaching young girls today is leadership. It's something that has been lacking for a long time. Not because we don't want to, but because of how society has labelled women," she told Harvey. "I think we are the most powerful beings in the world and that we should be given every opportunity. That is what we should be teaching these young girls. To take up space. Nothing is as important as taking up space in society and cementing yourself."
Zozibini has been vocal about a lot of things since her crowning including women empowerment, rape and the scourge of killing against women and children. As she celebrates her birthday today Mzansi has been wishing her a super one.
Zozibini recently posted a series of pictures on Instagram, enjoying being at home. The beauty decided to cook tripe showing off that she is proud of her culture.
Happy Birthday, Miss Universe.
