Comedian Trevor Gumbi is now also a television host and he says he is very happy to have made the foray into presenting as he says it allows him to showcase another side of his personality.

The outspoken stand-up comedian is currently vacationing with his wife and children in Thailand but that didn't stop him chatting to The Daily Sun about his latest project, Uvelaphi, which flights on Mzansi Magic.

“One of the things I love about this show is that it shows a different side of me," he said, reflecting on his role as host of the show that takes South African legends back to their childhood days.

The idea behind the show, now in its second season, is that the viewer gets to know the other side of the celebrities we see on television every day.

“It shows that I am not too crazy and I can actually hold a serious conversation," he said. "And I get to travel with music legends such as Rebecca Malope and Yvonne Chaka Chaka.

“People will get to know more about the pair’s rise-to-success and life stories,” he added.
