Tumi is stuck in the States with her husband Mpho Osei-Tutu and their three children. She spoke to DRUM magazine about their dismay as a family of being stuck in Virginia, saying they prefer to be home.
Their trip to the US was a quick business trip, they then decided to make it a family affair and have a vacation. Their stay was prolonged by the laws SA put in place to ban people travelling from high-risk coronavirus countries such as the US into the country.
Even though they are stuck in another country, they are trying to make the best out of the situation.
“Because of this whole lockdown thing, we would rather be home just because it’s so much easier in an environment you’re familiar with,” she said.
She added that their stay is not all that bad because they have extended family to make their stay a little more comfortable.
“However, it’s not all doom and gloom. We are with family here, so the self-isolation is also an opportunity for us to get to know our extended family better,” she proclaimed.
