We love our local celebrities but we also like focusing our attention towards our fellow African stars. This time around ZAlebs chats to Tanzanian actress, Vanessa Mdee who also acts on MTV’s Shuga.
As much as
people would like to complain about how negative things in South Africa might
be, nobody can deny that we live in a beautiful country. So when Vanessa Mdee,
from Tanzania, joked that she wanted to move to Mzansi, we were ready to show
her our bookmarked favs from local property websites.
The singer
and presenter is currently in Johannesburg and ZAlebs caught up with her at
Monday’s MTV Shuga press conference. Production for season 5 of the educational
drama is currently underway in Johannesburg and Vanessa will be joining the
cast for the first time.
She
started off by talking about how she is ready to move to South Africa:

Vanessa
has presenting experience, having started out as a VJ, and she’s proven herself
to be a great singer too. Howewever, she’s never acted on television before.
She talked about how nervous she was to work with such a talented cast:

Shuga
aims to educate its viewers and inspires them to learn more about social issues
in their communities. Vanessa spoke about the issues she’s looking forward to
tackling this year:
