While the series deal with very different topics–both shows explore the relatable theme of belonging. Abandoned is about people seeking out the parents who walked away from their children and Pastor Wants a Wife follows men of the cloth seeking love

Hosted by Phumeza Mdabe, Abandoned attempts to reunite children with their long-lost or unknown parents. Mdabe returns for another season, bringing her emotional intelligence, kindness and non-judgmental hosting style, which makes those at their most vulnerable feel safe in her trusted hands.

In a different kind of seeking, season two’s Pastor Wants a Wife features a new man of God looking for a woman to build a life with. This season’s bachelor is 35-year-old Tshego Modisakeng, who is an IT technician and entrepreneur from Rustenburg. The father of two is looking for an “outspoken woman” and is tired of “meaningless relationships”. Interestingly, he doesn’t need his future lady to be involved in church activities.

Season one of Pastor Wants a Wife featured two bachelors and was a hit with viewers, who enjoyed watching the various women attempt to find their forever. With 13 new episodes featuring a new group of ladies with differing personalities, it’s no doubt that season two will also have audiences glued to their screens.

“Our viewers react strongly to reality shows featuring real stories of real people, whether they are seeking familial belonging or looking for love. The themes explored in these shows are relatable to many. It’s important that our content is relatable and authentic and what better way than to see a family re united or people finding love.  We’re glad to keep our viewers engaged while treating our subjects with dignity and grace,” says Shirley Adonisi, Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net.
