At the age of 72-years old Aretha Franklin shows no signs of slowing down. Sony Music has announced that the incomparable "queen of soul" will be releasing an LP titled Aretha Franklin Sings The Great Diva Classics on the 20th of October.

As her first single, Franklin will be releasing her rendition of Adele's hit Rolling In The Deep. Franklin also performed the song on the Late Night show with David Letterman last night.

Watching her performance on The David Letterman Show one cannot deny that Ms Aretha Franklin can still uphold a note with her signature voice. We loved how she made this song her own.

Other great diva classics that she'll be incorporating include such songs like Gladys Knight's "Midnight Train to Georgia", Barbra Streisand's "People" and Whitney Houston's "I'm Every Woman."

The soul-singer reunites with Sony Music Entertainment’s Chief Creative Officer ,Clive Davis. Who expressed great excitement for Aretha's new album.

"I mean, it is great," he said in an interview. "For her to do all these songs, it's very exciting."

Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and Andre 3000 are among the album's producers. Other songs secured by Franklin include The Supremes' "You Keep Me Hangin On" ,Alicia Keys' "No One" and Dinah Washington's "Teach Me Tonight".

The icon's version of Gloria Gaynor'si "I Will Survive" will consolidate some of Destiny Child's 2001 hit single "Survivor". Well then, this should be interesting.
