Superstar South African DJ and Grammy award winner Black Coffee headlined, yet again, the biggest music and art festival this past weekend in Indio, Califonia, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2022. This year, he took along himself his longtime friend Siyabonga Ngwekazi popularly known as Scoop Makhathini, and his first born son, Esona who also accompanied him at this year’s Grammy awards last month.
The electronic, dance, and house DJ went from celebrating his Grammy win with a classy dinner in Johannesburg that saw some of his industry friends and supporters from the likes of Unathi Msengana to Shawn Mkhize dress up to celebrate the DJ to entertaining thousands of Coachella Valley Music Festival attendees to an hour set at the Saraha Tent on Saturday night all in a few hours period, and had videos of him killing it as expected circulating all over the internet.

The superstar DJ shared the stage and schedule with international Hip Hop stars Baby Keem, the female group, City Girls, Big Sean, Cordae, and Slander amongst a few others.
He took to Twitter to share his excitement to be performing at Coachella and shared a picture of himself, Scoop Makhathini, and Esona standing outside Coachella looking too cool for school.

This is not Black Coffee’s first time performing at Coachella, the Lah Lah Lah hitmaker has previously performed at the event in 2018 and 2019 consecutively as well as Diddy’s birthday party in 2018.

Other South African entertainment heavyweights and artists that graced the Coachella stages include Amapiano DJ, DBN Gogo, and the Major Leagues DJz who will be taking over the Heineken Beer Garden at Coachella next week for the Festival’s round two event.
The producer’s gig guide does not end on big stages like Coachella, he immediately jetted off to Tulum, Mexico after his Coachella performance to headline another big event with his pals South African House and EDM DJ, Themba, popularly known as Euphonik, and DJ Angelo. He captioned one of his photos with Esona, “Weekend well spent.  Next stop [is] Mexico tonight with Themba and DJ Angelo.”

The star also had big interviews at Coachella with global Youtube where he sat down with America DJ and producer Joe Kay to chat about everything from music, touring and his latest Grammy win.

The social media streets as always, have gone on to congratulate Black Coffee on this feat, with many highlighting the big Hip Hop artists that he performed back-to-back with on the Sahara Tent stage.

One user shared the lineup from Saturday night in a tweet and wrote, “Black Coffee sharing a stage with big Hip Hop stars in tomorrow's Coachella Stage. The line up is crazy there by Sahara stage”

Africa Facts Zone also tweeted highlighting Black Coffee’s historic feat of being the first South African artist to perform three times at Coachella. “Black Coffee has become the first African Artiste to perform at Coachella, the world's most popular music festival THRICE.”
