The DJ shared a cute video of Esona‘s images from when he was young and to date, highlighting all the fond memories they have shared and how proud he is of his growth.
He thanked him for being a great older brother to his siblings and for being grounded and respectful to everyone including his mother. Black Coffee further thanked him for allowing him to explore the fatherhood journey with him as he grew up without a father figure in his life.
He concluded by saying he loves him and he is proud of him.
Well since he couldn’t celebrate his birthday due to lockdown he is making up for lost time now that we are in level 1.
He threw a massive star studded birthday earlier this month and everything looked so lavish.
Enhle Mbali who is Black Coffee’s ex wife once touched on what it was like raising Esona with Real Talk’s with Anele Mdoda.
“It’s very hard being a mother to a teenager when I have only been a mother to toddlers. So I am having to skip so many steps to be a teen mom. So he gets away with a lot because I am always having to ask myself am I too nice, am I not being too nice? Am I being too stern or am I not being too stern?”
“There’s a lot that happens in my psyche that I think a lot of stepmothers also go through. It’s a lot. He’s not ‘mine’ so I almost have to treat him a certain way so that he doesn’t feel unloved,” she said.
