South African musician, Cassper Nyovest has shared a video of his own experience where he was reminded of the fear instilled in women in South Africa. Counteracting the #NotAllMen rebuttal to Boity’s recent comments, Cassper likened it to the #AllLivesMatter slogan amidst the #BlackLivesMatter movement.
The rapper shared his recent experience, where he was having an afternoon jog on his road. He had noticed a woman fearfully running faster to get away with him, then crossing the road when he caught up to her. Realising that she mistook him for a predator, he engaged in a short conversation about the tough circumstances women are faced with in South Africa. It was at that moment he was reminded about the gender-based violence that is going on in the country.
He condemned all of the people who have been defending men, and claimed that the #AllMenAreTrash movement is to remind men of the hardships faced by women, at the hands of a man.
