The untimely passing of legendary Namibian actor and theatre practitioner David Stone Ndjavera, has left a huge void in the acting industry. Ndjavera died last week while he was on the way to the hospital after experiencing breathing problems. His passing comes just a few days after his wife had passed on due to COVID-19 related complications.

The actor's memorial service is expected to take place tomorrow on 22 July 2021 from 15:00-17:00 and due to the COVID-19 restrictions, it will be broadcast live on Namibia National Theatre.
Ndjavera who starred in numerous local productions in the country died at the age of 51. Speaking to The Namibian, his daughter Maveya Ndjavera said she is heartbroken to the core after losing both her parents in a matter of a few days apart.
“Losing two parents in a matter of days is very, very hard. We are still mourning my mother, and our dad helped us during those days, and now he is gone.
“This is just not fair. It's very hard. I have to be strong for the family. The good thing is that my father taught me how to fight and stand up for myself. Now I have to stand for my siblings and grandmother,”
