It has been over a month since the assassination of legendary local rapper Kiernan Jarryd “AKA’ Forbes. This is as AKA was gunned down, along with friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, outside of the Wish restaurant in Durban. Despite there being CCTV footage of the events that led to AKA’s untimely passing, it seems that the SAPS are nowhere near solving the case.

As a result, the media and the general public continue to come up with conspiracy theories. The most circulated of those theories alleges that AKA was gunned down due to his relationship with Durban native Anele “Nellie” Tembe, whose family is said to be very influential in the province.
Hence when e.TV conducted an interview with AKA’s personal security Anwar “Dogg” Khan. The interview only further perpetuated the ongoing speculation that the assassination of AKA had an insider involved.
AKA's visit to Wish was a breach in security
Anwar “Dogg” Khan was AKA’s personal security detail for years. However, he could not go to Durban with the rapper. A trick which was allegedly not initially scheduled as Khan suggested that the focus was releasing AKA’s fifth solo studio album Mass Country.
However, Khan alleges that the album’s release was then pushed back in order to accommodate AKA to travel and take gigs. One of those gigs happened to be the one in Durban. Given the tumultuous relationship that AKA has with the province, Khan indicated that AKA was supposed to only stay at his hotel, go to his performances and return back to the hotel.
But Khan alleges that his road manager accepted the invite for AKA to visit the Wish restaurant, which was not protocol and a breach in security given that they had not surveyed the location before getting there. As such, it seems that Khan was placing blame on AKA’s road manager who happens to be K.O’s brother Siya Mdluli.
This is not the first time that suspicion has been levelled against Siya. The first to do so was none other than controversial entertainment commentator and podcast regular Nhlamulo “Nota” Baloyi. An accusation that has landed him in legal trouble as reported:
Nhlamulo “Nota” Baloyi is no stranger to the courthouse. This is as the likes of Shimza have already taken the controversial former music executive to court for his previous utterances on their name. However, it seems that Nota has not learned his lesson as he was dragged to court yet again.

This time it was by Hip-Hop legend K.O who initially took Nota to court for alleging that his brother and close friend to the recently assassinated rapper Kiernan “AKA" Forbes when he alleged he was involved in his assassination. In what fits the description of a narcissist, instead of taking the onus of his actions, Nota preferred to continue spewing more accusations this time including K.O.
On Thursday, 9 March 2023, K.O had taken to Twitter to share a cryptic tweet about someone lying on his name and having to face the full might of the law. At the time, given his recent “beef” with Lady Du, it was unclear to who the tweet was directed.
However, Nota seemed to make things easier to deduce as he took to his own social media to then directly accuse K.O of being involved in AKA’s assassination.
