The woman, Namhla Mtwa was shot by a man in her driveway recently and many believe it is allegedly her boyfriend of 17 years. Many people saw the gruesome pictures she took of her bruised body and the video where she was allegedly beaten for up to 8 hours.
Her sister spoke at the funeral saying she witnessed the abuse with her own eyes and would often wash the blood off her body.
Women organisations, a few politicians and celebs have been calling for the justice system to not fail this woman and Amanda is one of them.
Amanda said Namhla is a hero for taking the pictures as evidence so when her death comes, people would know where or who to look into.
"Protect woman’s rights! We are not animals. Namhla a true hero leaving evidence behind because she knew she might not make it out alive. She deserves justice. We are tired, scared and fearful. We speak for those who never make it out alive at the hands of GBV."
As a victim of Gender Based Violence, Amanda du-Pont once said she made her story public because she wanted to give other women a voice. “I want to make this a public fight. The fight is bigger than me. Dedicated to the woman who never makes it out and ends up dead”.

People have even asked for famous sangoma Gogo Maweni to intervene as she claimed the late Namhla visited her in her dreams.
"Wow the chills…last night I had a visitor, Namhla hiding behind a smile, she said “he is obsessed with the idea of revenge, he owns me… ”Please let us help her crossover light a white candle in short prayer may she not suffer even after her death," wrote Gogo Maweni.
Amanda is also a victim of GBV and she alleged that her former lover Jub Jub raped her. After Jub Jub said he slept with Amanda she went on video and told him he did not smash her, he actually raped her.
“No, you didn’t smash me, you raped me, you forcibly opened my legs, forced me myself for two years and made me believe that there was no way out. The most painful part of all of this was that I was a virgin and I told him at the time. I told Jub Jub at the time that I was a virgin and I planned to be a virgin until the time I got married,” claimed Amanda.
But Jub Jub said he did not intend on mocking Amanda, "It was inappropriate for me to discuss the intimate details of my relationship with Ms. Du Pont in public. I deeply regret the incident."
"I also apologize to my fans and the public for the inappropriate language I used during the interview...With regards to the accusations leveled against me by Amanda and others I have decided to make a room for the law to take its course and I request the media and the public to do the same," he concluded.
Amanda said a lot of things including that she had an abortion because she could not have a baby which was forced on her.
