Actress and television presenter Amanda du Pont has spoken up about the abuse she suffered at the hands of an unnamed man who bears a striking resemblance to incarcerated ex-boyfriend Molemo 'Jub Jub' Maarohanye.
Amanda - who recently joined popular celebrity gossip magazine show The Real Goboza as presenter - in an interview with Real Magazine speaks about being violated by a former partner, who she never names, but about who she drops subtle hints that leads one to believe she's talking about murder convicted musician Jub Jub.
It's no secret that Du Pont was once engaged to Jub Jub, who is currently behind bars for murdering four and injuring two school children during a reckless, illegal drag race with co-accused Themba Tshabalala in 2010.
Among the many controversial rumours about Jub Jub's love life is the fact he allegedly forced a mistress to abort her child so as to salvage his relationship with Amanda, who he later dumped for troubled afro-pop singer Kelly Khumalo.
After the demise of her relationship with Jub Jub, Kelly spoke out about the physical abuse he inflicted on her, and Amanda's confession to the magazine bears a striking resemblance to the singer's.
"He started raping me too. I'd refuse to have sex as I was tired or didn't feel like it but he'd force himself on me," she revealed.
"By then I was falling out of love with him but I still didn't have the guts to leave. Rape in a relationship is horrible. You don't understand that a person who claims to love you can violate you like that."
Amanda adds, though, that she's moved on from that that period in her life and found personal empowerment by letting go of her anger.
"Sometimes I'd bump into him at functions but that didn't faze me because I had moved on," she continued.
"He was in a relationship with a famous musician by then. I can honestly say I have forgiven him."
