Babes Wodumo is not about to let people who want to pit her against Kamo Mphela succeed. If you thought Babes' light has dimmed, then think again because the Gqom Queen is set on reviving her career and reclaim her spot as one of the biggest female musos in the country.

Babes Wodumo entered the music industry as a Qgom superstar whose music echoed internationally. This made her feature in one of the most successful soundtrack albums of the film Black Panther, curated by Kendrick Lamar. If you watched the movie, you could have also heard Babe's music being played on the film as well.
She then scored herself a BET award for Best International Act: Africa and also an MTV EMA for Best Female Artiste in Southern Africa. This was all in 2017 and fans have been worried that Babes is not bigger this year.
Babes settled down and started a family with industry mate and lover Mampintsha, something fans think also played a role in dimming her light. However, in an effort to prove she still has that thing, Babes will be touring countries outside South Africa. She announced this week that she will be performing in Kenya at the Captain's Terrace Restaurant on October 10.
As expected, the negative comments started to flow in but her sister/manager defended her. Speaking to Daily Sun, Nondumiso Simelane said it hurts when people say Babes is nothing but a local artist, hoping that this international gig will be gagged.
“Babes does not limit herself. Clearly those who think she targets only local don’t know her. She’s going to Kenya and that’s good because she is going to prove them wrong,” she said. Speaking on claims that she is neglecting her son, her manager said, “Babes needs to work to provide for her son. And she has a very supportive family. So working, which includes travelling, does not affect anyone including the baby. She’s a caring and loving mother.”
Soon after Kamo Mphela shared a video of herself living her dream in the United Kingdom, many have compared her to Babes Wodumo saying she reminds them of her. Of course trolls also entered the chat and proceeded to diss Babes.
She caught all of that and responded on two separate occasions. Firstly, she and a group of women threw a bit of shade and pointed at her accolade which went platinum. She did this to remind people of who she is and where she started from. She and a group of women laughed at the trolls and told them that she has been dragged for a long time in the industry but she is still standing.
In another attempt to silence trolls who thought who thought she was shading Kamo, she posted a video of them dancing on Facebook and told her how proud she is of her. "Super proud of you @Kamo. Keep shining Baby."
