The first time we all heard about iconic Black Motion splitting was during the reign of Musa Khawula on Twitter and his expose of South African celebrities.
The speculation was fuelled by Thabo Smol who was performing solo as Black Motion.
Despite reports that the duo had split, Black Motion issued a statement denying the allegations.
“Spirit Motion would like to state in a record that Black Motion members Thabo Mabongwa aka Smol and Bongani Mahosana aka Murdahbongz have not parted ways. Black Motion still exists and has plans for more years to come.”
To squash the allegations, the duo would then release their most recent (and possibly last) album under their original formation titled Talking to the Drums.
However, in recent days, fans have been baffled to see Thabo Smol and new member Kabelo Koma, who in the titles is confirmed as the “Member of Black Motion
Not much is known about Kabelo Koma aka Problem Child or what he will bring to the group.
Problem Child is from Seshego and is said to have fallen in love with house music because of his older brother, who at 14 started his professional DJing career as a self-taught DJ playing at local outlets, parties and nightspots in Polokwane, hence his stage name.
In 2010, he released his first EP titled Mr Ten83 hence his Instagram profile. Problem Child and Thabo Smol have a longstanding friendship outside of their new partnership as seen through posts of them together before Problem Child’s confirmation as a Black Motion member.
Murdah Bongz Says He Didn’t Know About New Black Motion Membeer
In a new interview with Dineo Ranaka and Sol Phenduka on Kaya FM Morda addressed this for the first time.
He revealed that he was surprised and hurt that Black Motion had gotten a new member.
“I just found out on social media but I am meeting them tomorrow. Me, I was hurt but I still smile about it. I was busy travelling but I am meeting the guys. I‘m not on Twitter so I’m seeing screenshots. However, tomorrow we are meeting.”
Bongz said that he would be meeting with Thabo Smol to try and resolve the matter.
Murdah Bongz On His First Child
Bongani 'Murdah Bongz' Mohasana prides himself on keeping his family matters away from the public eye.
The Black Motion group member always posts his daughter Asante Mohosana, so much to the point that people forget that he has a child from a previous relationship – leading. Some people to call him a deadbeat dad.
In an episode of BET's DJ Zinhle: The Unexpected last season, Murdah finally broke his silence about his first child and the agreement he had with the child's mother.
His baby mama had asked him to not post their child and draw attention to him.
“The thing is they don’t really know what is going on. I don’t have to prove a point or anything, you know? The child’s mother asked that I don’t bring the child any unnecessary attention. So, that’s why I don’t post her,” he told his wife Zinhle.
