But it is now reported by Drum that Brickz is still in prison so people can still breath a huge sigh of relief.

A correctional service spokesperson, Singabakgo Nxumalo told the publication, "Brickz is still in jail. What is circulating on social media is an old picture to spread fake news. You need to be eligible and how does one become eligible? They need to serve minimum required time and people know that he hasnā€™t served minimum required time,ā€ added Nxumalo.

The singer was sentenced to 15 years in prison for raping his niece so should he had been released, that would mean he would have spent just 4 years which angered people.

The rape apologists though defended him and said he 'served is time' and he should be forgiven just like Jub Jub.

Here some of the reactions from people:

"Brickz's situation & the warm welcomes he's getting from some of your favorites is everything that is wrong with the justice system. A young girl was raped & destroyed permanently, yet her rapist did a few nice years in jail & is now back to resume his life like nothing happened."

"Prison are not a 'punishment' but a place of solitude to...reform and rehabilitate offenders. By law, Brickz joined different programmes in jail which might have qualified for him to be released and he's also a first time offender. If there's a ledger of sexual offenders, Brickz name will be there for eternity."

"Thereā€™s nothing special about Brickz he served his sentence, usually for good behavior and work you do in jail you only serve 50% of your timeā€¦"

"Jub Jub only did 5 years of his 25 years  after killling 4 kids! Somizi was accused of Abuse and heā€™s still doing shows. Bujy panel beated Boity heā€™s still getting gigs. If these people are fit to have shows we must keep the same energy also with Brickz letā€™s not sound woke."

"Men in South Africa take rape as some form of mistake. It's so jarring to read the attitude that South African men exude when rape is mentioned or talked about."

His victim, then 17-year-old niece, penned a heartbreaking letter speaking about how he left her scarred for life .

"Ever since the incident, Iā€™ve never felt the same and my life is not normal. I just became so down and not participated in conversations with my surroundings. The things you did to me, I blame myself, I blame God but the truth is it is all your fault. You may be going to jail but know that you have broken me. I didnā€™t live like a normal teenager and part of me has been taken away," the letter partly reads
