Unfortunately, the two day, Dstv Delicious Festival this past weekend at the Kyalami Grand Priz, did not live up to its expectations.
All was not lost as the acclaimed Nigerian artist; Burna Boy saved the day with an electrifying performance. Leaving thousands of attendees demanding more as he wowed a crowd estimated to be between 50 000 – 100 000 according to reports.
Burna Boy whose real name is Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu headlined the festival and his performance had such a powerful impact, award-winning DJ, Black Coffee dubbed the Nigerian star as the ‘African Giant’. This acknowledged both Burna Boy’s continental and international presence. On Twitter, Black Coffee posted a screenshot of a video call he had with Burna Boy along with a caption ‘A King…an African Giant’.
Numerous Twitter users supported this statement made by Black Coffee. As one user wrote, ‘we should have a ‘Burna Boy’ day in Africa to honour this LEGEND. Another user wrote ‘we need a coffee and Burna song rnnnnn’. Talita , also a tweep wrote ‘He definitely carried the festival himself! It was officially a Burna Boy day. South Africa loves you, man.
The exceptional performance and highlight of the festival, led to some calling AKA out to remedy his beef with the acclaimed and Grammy nominated Burna which dates to 2019. This in hopes that the two stars could perhaps share a stage together. The Supa Mega responded to a tweet and wrote, ‘I have no problem with Burna at all. God bless my brother’.
