Award-winning rappers, Cassper Nyovest and AKA have been known as one of Mzansi’s most popular hip-hop rivals since the two artists had a fall out following Cassper Nyovest alleged Twitter rant about AKA back in 2014, and after years of staying out of each other's way and fans anticipating their reunion, it seems that the two of them are back at it again.
With the two rappers both endorsing alcoholic beverages and having their own flavours - Cassper Nyovest with Mango’s Ciroc Vodka and AKA’s Cruz Watermelon- the similarities in their money-making moves has seemingly added fuel to their beef.
Following Cassper Nyovest travelling to Milan to shoot an advertisement with the four other Ciroc crew, Wiz Kid, Thando Thabethe, River Viiperi, Jeremy Scott and Jasmine Sanders, Tweeps have speculated that AKA was shading Cassper Nyovest after he took to his timeline boasting about the relationship he has with his Vodka brand after he announced his collaboration with Moschino on his Twitter page.
This was allegedly sparked by Cassper Nyovest alluding to the fact that he was shading AKA in his verse of DJ Sumbody’s newly released single Monate Mpolaye, rapping:
“Cassper Ciroc...Mango Mango, ha re batle Magapu mo [We don’t want Watermelons here.]”

Cassper nyovest later took to his timeline reiterating the rap line in a Twitter post after AKA posted those tweets. Our Twitter forensics have since highlighted the tweets as shade to AKA's Watermelon Cruz Vodka drink and tagged him in the posts as well.
"If there’s one person you don’t have to worry about, it’s your enemy. He always knows how far you are. If you’re gonna explain yourself or use your energy, use it on your fans. Explain yourself to those who love you. Your enemy knows your power & your gift better than your fans." he wrote, implying that he thought that his rival was no threat to him and would rather focus on his fans.
Cassper Nyovest has been adamant that in the past AKA has allegedly been provoking him: "He's gonna deny it but I have it on video this time. I don't know what he's trying to achieve with this tough act, but I'm not about it. Innocent people get hurt because of this dumb sh*t. He's trying to start, I don't respect that man at all."
