Celebs we'd love to see reconcile on #ReconciliationDay

You’re probably all too busy celebrating the fact that the work year is over to even notice that a public holiday fell on a Saturday but today marks the 22nd annual Day of Reconciliation in South Africa.

What is the Day of Reconciliation?

Well, according to thesouthafrican.com, it is the day that South Africa effectively celebrates the fall of the apartheid regime.

The aim of the day is “to foster national unity and harmony between all races. They day looks to both remember, and move on from, the racially divisive politics that scared the nation for decades.”

But reconciliation is not all about racial differences. Conflict exists in all spaces of life and the entertainment industry is not exempt. As such, here are a few ZAlebrity reconciliations we’d love to see happen:

Bonang Matheba and Somizi

This is arguably one of the best celebrity friendships the country has seen and now that both of them are making a killing in their respective careers, it would be great to see them kiss, make up and conquer the game as a duo.

Can you just imagine if they got a joined talk show on TV or a radio show?

Riky Rick and Stogie T

Riky is one of the first artists signed to Stogie’s Motif label and that did not end well back in 2014. The drama behind their split sparked many a punchline in a rap song, the most infamous being “what happened to Riky?”

Riky recently revisited this moment following the little spat between Stogie and Cassper Nyovest at the 2017 SA Hip Hop Awards.

He took to Twitter to explain his problem with Molekane as well as his feelings about what Molekane should do next.

The pair undeniably make musical magic together so we hope they can have a Cassper Nyovest x Jabba Man moment and make up in the future.

We feel as though this “beef” isn’t that serious. Cassper just needs to do something he never seems to want to do and admit he misunderstood before squashing the “beef” with industry stalwart, Molekane.

The pair allegedly fell out over a shared ex, Khaya Mthethwa, years ago. Fast forward to 2017, and Mthethwa is married and it’s not to either of them.

Plus both ladies seemed to have moved on and are flourishing so surely the betrayal no longer stings as hard as it once did?

DJ Zinhle and Bonang Matheba

Speaking of betrayal, it has been over two years since DJ Zinhle outed her former friend, Matheba and her then boyfriend, AKA for carrying on an affair behind her back while she was pregnant.

Her beautiful daughter is two years old and she and AKA seem to be making this co-parenting thing work. AKA also seems very serious about Bonang so she’s going to be in little Kairo’s life regardless.

Mabala Noise and Fifi Cooper

Although we’d like to see this reconciliation happen, Mabala needs to lead the way and do right by Fifi Cooper after they legally shafted her and effectively destroyed her livelihood, ensuring that she’d have to start from scratch as a musician.

With the EFF by her side, she seems to be doing alright, and if Comrade Bae and DJ Juju can’t help her legally, hopefully they can mediate a reconciliation.
