Costa is best known for his hit singles Nkalakatha and Big Flexa. He was recently signed to Akon's record label and the African icon featured on the remix of Big Flexa. When he entered the industry, he started out as a back up dancer with notable performances such as Cassper Nyovest's Fill Up The Dome and others.
His death comes a month after his friend, colleague and collaborator AKA also died while in Durban. Costa paid tribute to AKA following the news of his death and thanked him for all that he did for him. "Still doesn’t feel real… Love you forever big bro!"
Costa tried to stay away from trouble but it seems as though he did step on a few toes. He and Cassper beefed for a while after his comments about rappers jumping ship to pursue Amapiano.
“SA Hip Hop is uniting right now. If you jumped ship, stay there and let us fix what you broke -respectfully,” Costa wrote.
Cassper caught his sub and responded on Twitter, saying he wants Costa to tell that to his face, "Apparently Hip Hop don't need Cassper Nyovest!!! They coming together and things are looking bright!!! Costa Ebile are yena he is fixing what I destroyed. Azange kea tsega yana mo lifeng. I'm back in SA and I can't wait to run into him so he must explain in person..."
