The ongoing beef between Prince Kaybee and DJ Maphorisa had their industry mates chiming in, with the hopes of mitigating the war between the two musos - and now there's a new pleasantly surprising mediator , Mmusi Maimane.
The former Democratic Alliance (DA) leader jumped in at, probably the hottest debate, between Prince Kaybee DJ Maphorisa this week.
The issue at hand started with Maphorisa listing South African fractions of musicians who and don't own their masters. Unfortunately some artist's got dragged into the mix, including Lady Zamar and Prince Kaybee.
A few media practitioners have since shared their two cents, such as Sizwe Dhlomo and DJ Zinhle, and quite recently Mmusi Maimane.
Mmusi has urged Maphorisa and Prince Kaybee to focus on "giving the people more good music." Whilst emphasising the importance of owning masters, the politician added that, lifting each other up is equally important.
