Ever since the passing of the 22-year-old who was engaged to be married to rapper AKA, the Western Cape police as well as the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) had an inquest into her death. While it was revealed by the rapper that Anele had committed suicide, others were of the opinion that there was more to the story than meets the eye, therefore placing AKA at the centre of the incident as a prime suspect.

This past Sunday it was reported by Sunday World that Anele's phone has reportedly been formatted, therefore deleting all of her messages which could have been useful for the investigation.

According to reports, the late Anele's family was in possession of her phone after her passing, this after a close friend handed it to them. It is also reported that her family did not know her password and they had asked AKA if he had known it.

“The family asked AKA if he knew the passcode, but he told them he had no idea as she kept it secret,” a mole said

Another source revealed that including the many messages on Anale's phone is a an unpleasant comments she allegedly made about DJ Zinhle who is the mother of AKA's daughter, Kairo Forbes. The comment was reportedly made the day before her passing.

"The investigating officer only asked his lawyer verbally to ask Kiernan if he knew her phone password as the father claims not to have it, yet they are missing bitchy comments in reference to DJ Zinhle from her social media that she made the day before her suicide," another mole said.

This, according to the mole, is confirmation that whoever was in possession of her phone deleted those comments a week after her funeral.

The late Anele 'Nelli' Tembe fell to her death at the Pepperclub Hotel in Cape Town on April 11. Her death was then investigated, but 3 months later, the Tembe family still has not found closure. In the midst of all of this, a lot has been said by many people, especially on social media.

Recently, sources have suggested that AKA may actually be off the hook as the case is reopened. What may have saved the rapper is his interview with Thembekile Mrototo in which he spoke about the the different incidents when his late fiancée attempted to commit suicide.

The NPA found that the police had initially investigated Anele's death as a murder case with AKA as the prime suspect, and did not follow "standard procedure for all matters where the deceased dies of unnatural causes." As a result, the docket was sent back so the case is now investigated as suicide.

"After the interview, the matter was closed by the SA Police Service and handed over to the NPA for review. The NPA then reverted and said this was a suicide investigation and what [the police] had provided had elements [of there being] a suspect of murder,”
the source City Press last week.
