Kiernan broke down after the journalist asked him if he had ever hit Nellie.
“My interview with AKA about his relationship with Anele Tembe, allegations that he abused her and day she died in Cape Town will be available on BarLeader's YouTube page from 7 pm tonight.” Tweeted the eNCA journalist.
Non-Profit Organization, Women For Change, has been calling for the musician’s songs to be removed across all media.
The organization tweeted that they received an anonymous tip-off claiming that most media houses refused to interview the rapper. “The word on the street is that AKA’s PR company begged people for interviews and most media houses refused. Keep me anonymous.” Read the tweet.
Following the allegations leveled against him, his legal representative, Rudolph Baloyi, senior associate at Mabuza Attorneys said that the AKA assures his fans that he is not a perpetrator of GBV and would respond to all the burning questions in due time.
“Mr Forbes takes the current events playing out since this past Sunday seriously. It is regrettable that he and his brand are now associated with GBV. However, he assures his fans and the public that he is not a perpetrator of GBV. In due time he will respond fully to all questions and queries. Currently, the situation is heavy on him and his family as a whole,” the statement published by Tshisa Live read. Also revealing that the screenshots from an unreleased video were not a true reflection of what took place on that day.
“It is also difficult to deal with public outcry and condemnation on social media. The screenshots from an unreleased video seen over the past weekend online are not a true reflection of the alleged situations that arose on the day.”
